Logistics and Security

The Department of Logistics and Security is responsible for data security and the operation of GEUS’ facilities in Copenhagen, Rødovre, Aarhus and Nuuk. We are responsible for the working environment at GEUS and a number of internal service functions.

Data security

The main task of the department is to ensure that GEUS maintains a level of security consistent with GEUS’ obligations and ambitions as the leading centre for geological research, consultancy, and data archiving for Denmark and Greenland. The unit also ensures GEUS’ compliance with the ISO 27001 standard, performs risk assessment, and handles communication with the State Auditing Office, the Danish GovCERT and other parties in the field of data security.

Logistic planning for field work in Greenland and facilities for inspection of drill cores

We are responsible for the logistic planning of GEUS’ field work, primarily in Greenland, including the purchase and maintenance of field equipment. In our corestore we register and manage geological sample material and have facilities for inspection of drill cores for internal and external users.

Porter’s office

The Porter’s office is responsible for receipt of goods, GEUS’ cars, internal postal service, purchase and administration of office supplies and furniture including administration of relevant government purchase agreements. The office also takes care of report printing, colour printing and waste disposal and assists in many sorts of practical tasks.
