GEUS has been awarded the European Commission’s distinction, HR Excellence in Research, for our efforts to ensure good working conditions and career possibilities for our researchers.

The distinction is given to research institutions within Europe, who have committed themselves to creating good working conditions and career possibilities for their researchers. The acknowledgement is based on the principles in ‘The European Charter for Researchers’ and ‘The Code of Conduct for Recruitment of Researchers’. The Charter and Code consist of 40 focus areas within the topics of ‘Ethical and Professional Aspects’, ‘Recruitment and Selection’, ‘Working Conditions and Social Security’, and ‘Training and Development’.

By implementing the principles of the Charter and the Code, GEUS contributes to the improvement of rights, career possibilities, working conditions and mobility of researchers across Europe.

“We do research at the highest international level, and it’s crucial that we continue to be able to attract and retain skilled researchers – also from outside of Denmark. The HR Excellence in Research provides us with a tool to create an attractive research environment with good development and career possibilities,” says Anne Merete Koefoed, Deputy Director at GEUS.
