GEUS’s sediment laboratory has many years of experience in sediment analyses in connection with raw material surveys, contamination surveys and surveys of groundwater as well as climate signals hidden in geological layers. The work is primarily done as part of major research projects, but the laboratory also works on commercial terms.

Analyses and sample processing are standardised and are done in accordance with Danish Standards. The results are reported as required by the customer. The laboratory takes part in annual inter-laboratories on sieving, hydrometer analyses and loss on ignition determination.

Every year we participate in the Danish Road Directorate’s inter-laboratories on sieving (distribution of grain size) and hydrometer analysis and determination of loss on ignition.
