ISAAFFIK Arctic Gateway is the portal where researchers, coordinators and logistical personnel share knowledge and planning for specific field projects in the Arctic. ISAAFFIK is where to look to get an overview of planned and ongoing activities and find project partners among the pool of professional contacts.

Anyone with experience from fieldwork in Greenland knows that it is expensive and cumbersome to operate in an area with only limited infrastructure. The ISAAFFIK portal is the place for coordination and facilitation of Arctic activities to ensure optimum use of available resources such as transportation, field stations and equipment.

The website is managed by a group of representatives from the participating institutions, established further to the ISAAFFIK initiative, which was set in motion in 2014 by the joint efforts of Danish, Greenlandic and Faroese universities and research institutions. From 2016 the Danish Armed Forces has be become an official partner in the Isaaffik logistical group, facilitating coordination of requests from the research community for logistical support from the Army, the Navy or the Air Force.

As a rule Isaaffik-membership is offered all individuals engaged in Arctic research at universities and research institutions in Denmark, Greenland or the Faroe Islands. Whether or not you are an Isaaffik member, you can now get updates from Isaaffik via your LinkedIn account. Isaaffik invites you to 'follow' its LinkedIn profile.
