A new series of MiMa-Meetings on mineral resources is being launched this coming autumn. The MiMa-Meetings are organized with the aim to establish a forum for discussions of essential aspects related to supply and demand of mineral raw materials, and to increase the awareness of current global and domestic issues related to mineral resources. The concept of the meetings is to invite vspeakers, with different background, to give their view on important issues. The theme for this year's MiMa-Meetings is What are the main challenges for a sustainable supply of raw materials?
At the moment we have confirmed arrangement with two prominent researchers within this field:
October 6, from 2 to 4 pm:
Thomas Graedel, Professor, Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, has undertaken a wide range of research within the fields of critical minerals, life-cycle analysis, and depletion time for mineral raw materials, and is senior author to several books and large number of publications.
November 26, from 2 to 4 pm:
Vaclav Smil, Professor Emeritus, does interdisciplinary research in the fields of energy, environmental and population change, risk assessment and public policy, and has published 35 book and more than 400 papers on these topics.
